Pedestrian Seriously Injured After Being Struck By Taxicab In Huntington Station

A pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a taxicab overnight in Huntington Station.

It happened around 1:40 a.m. Sunday, July 28 on New York Avenue between East 10th Street and East 11th Street in Huntington Station, Suffolk County Police said.

A 47-year-old man was walking eastbound when he was struck by a northbound Universal taxicab, a 2008 Ford sedan, according to police.

The victim, whose name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported by ambulance to Huntington Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The driver of the taxicab, Isabel Bolanos, 53, of Huntington Station, was not injured.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
